About the farm

Founded in 1924, the Bejofo Estate is one of the two historic plantations in Madagascar. Since 2000, the farm has placed Madagascar on the map of fine cacao, supplying most of the top chocolate makers in the world.

About the Partnership

With support of USAID and Tsiro, Akesson's Farm offers a secure and nurturing environment for the local communities. Notably, they have converted all of the Estate to solar energy, provided land to employees for self-sufficiency, contributed to building schools, and helped address healthcare challenges by sourcing and distributing medicines.
