About the farm

The farms lie within the Vista Hermosa and San Juan de Arama municipalities in the Meta department. Named after the indigenous Zocay monkey, this area --primarily inhabited by migrants from other regions of Colombia --has a history marked by violence and illicit coca cultivation. Yet these communities have chosen a different path, drawing on their deep - rooted knowledge of cocoa farming to transform their homeland. Today, it stands as a haven for cocoa cultivation.

About the Partnership

OKANTA purchases wet cacao directly from local farmers, ensuring close oversight of the post - harvest process and upholding the highest quality standards. This approach not only streamlines harvesting for farmers —saving time and labor —but also reduces logistical and transportation costs, offering a more efficient and sustainable solution.
