About the farm

After years of studying his cocoa trees on his plantation, Jorge Yoplak, a farmer from the community of Pucallpillo, nestled within the Huayabamba Valley in the Upper Amazon region of Peru, decided to propagate the best of the best, and convinced his neighbours of the good potential of this variety. Today, the unique cocoa can be found only here and there in the Huayabamba Valley.

About the Partnership

Choba Choba is a chocolate company co-owned by the very farmers who grow the beans along the Huayabamba River in Peru. Tired of the destructive realities of the cocoa industry, they created their own brand to gain more control and deliver real economic, social, and environmental impact on the ground. Today, Choba Choba stands for farmer ownership, direct trade, and a deep connection to the land and its people.
